Los Ninos : I saw pictures of many children in the refugee camps. They are now orphans, and they made the 30 mile trek to safety on their own. Their faces are so young yet old at the same time. I see sadness even though they try to laugh the way a child laughs. I feel like his face will always show the lines, the scars from this no matter what his age.  Please consider signing up with a Darfur organization such as Save Darfur. Alma :   When I heard how women were raped, and how they were shot in the legs if they tried to get away, I knew I had to do a painting of one of the women. Then on NBC Nightly News, there was a story of women that were raped and I listened to the song that they all sing together. It stayed with me into the night, and this is when I saw her standing in a sea of other women looking directly into my eyes. She is a strong woman, but a woman that has been hurt. However, she whispered, "They can do whatever they want to me, but they can never steal my Soul." Please consider signing up with a Darfur organization such as Save Darfur. Bloody Tears : I was watching NBC Nightly News one night and they showed a man who had been bayoneted in the eyes. He was young, his whole life in front of him, and the last image he saw was a sword entering into his eyes, which are often called the "windows to the Soul."
